Ethan Bear Traded To Hurricanes
3 years agoDefenseman Ethan Bear was flipped from the Edmonton Oilers to the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday in exchange for forward Warren Foegele. The 24-year-old defender took a step back in his development in 2020-21 when he scored just two goals and recorded eight points in 43 contests while averaging just under 18 minutes of ice time per game. Two seasons ago, he recorded five goals and 21 points in 71 games and averaged close to 22 minutes per game. The move to Carolina — a high-flying offensive team — could help Bear recapture some fantasy value. To do that, he'll have to earn the trust of his new coach and cut down on the untimely giveaways. He has one more year remaining on his contract ($2 million AAV) until he hits restricted free agency.
