Estevan Florial Needs Wrist Surgery
7 years agoAfter exiting a game on Thursday with wrist soreness, New York Yankees outfield prospect Estevan Florial was revealed to be suffering from a fractured hamate bone in his right wrist. The injury will require surgery, meaning the 20-year-old will be out at least until August. The Dominican native was boasting a .696 OPS through 36 games with the Single-A Tampa Tarpons. Current Yankees manager Aaron Boone suffered the same injury 17 years ago, missing a month, although it appears Florial will miss more. The highly-touted prospect is envisioned as a future outfield star with the club, currently expected to be major league-ready in a year or two.
