Estevan Florial Fractures Wrist
6 years agoNew York Yankees top prospect Estevan Florial will miss the start of the minor league season after he suffered a non-displaced right wrist fracture in Saturday's spring win over the Blue Jays. The outfielder is the No. 57 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline, but he collided with the outfield fence while pursuing a fly ball on Saturday. The 21-year-old had been turning heads in camp with 11 hits in 31 at-bats (.355 average) and two doubles, a home run, four RBI and five stolen bases in 13 games. It appears likely now that Florial will begin his 2019 season with High-A Tampa. Florial lost two months last year due to right hamate bone surgery. The exciting outfielder is more likely to see time in the big leagues next season.
