Ervin Santana Bailed Out By Offense, Bullpen Thursday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Ervin Santana allowed seven runs in four innings to the Detroit Tigers on Thursday, but he was able to escape with a no-decision thanks to the firepower his offense brought and the lockdown ability his bullpen showed. Santana was battered around for seven hits, and he finished with three walks against just two strikeouts. The Twins ended up winning 15-8. Since returning from injury, Santana just hasn't been the same pitcher he was during his 2017 All-Star campaign. In five starts this season, he is 0-1 with an astounding 8.03 ERA. He is not a fantasy option as long as he continues this way. He will get the weak Chicago White Sox next, but it will be hard to trust him after a performance like this.
