Erik Swanson Earns Shaky Save On Saturday
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Erik Swanson allowed one earned run on three hits over a 2/3 of an inning in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Boston Red Sox. He picked up his fourth save of the season. The 29-year-old entered the game in the ninth inning with a two-run lead and one out. Swanson allowed three straight singles before finally getting out of the jam with a double play. He is now earned a save in his last two appearances. Swanson owns a 3.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and a 57: 18 K: BB across 50 1/3 innings. The Blue Jays acquired Jordan Hicks from the Cardinals before the MLB trade deadline. Hicks notched his first save with the Blue Jays in Friday's win against the Red Sox. Swanson will likely take a backseat to Hicks but could earn some save chances while Toronto's primary closer, Jordan Romano (back), is sidelined. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats searching for saves can look to add Swanson.
