New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula (ankle) could be back in the lineup on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. An ankle sprain has kept Haula sidelined for 12 games, but he appears ready to jump back into the lineup. On Monday, Haula practiced on the second line with Timo Meier and Dawson Mercer. Haula's offensive production has been underwhelming in 2024-25, as he has posted five goals and six assists in 42 outings. He will aim to snap an 18-game scoring drought when he returns to action.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula (ankle) will not be in the lineup on Monday against Seattle and faces a multi-game absence. Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe has said Haula could miss "a few weeks," Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports. Haula hasn't yet sat out any games this season, notching 11 points (five goals, six assists) in 42 appearances. He's generally busy without the puck as well, boasting 67 hits. Justin Dowling will fill the open spot in the lineup on Monday. He will operate as the third-line center next to Paul Cotter and Dawson Mercer. Dowling has not been a factor in fantasy hockey, with his contributions limited to three points (two goals, one assist) in 25 games this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula (illness) will make his preseason debut against the New York Islanders on Friday. After catching an illness bug, Haula wasn't able to work in training camp until Wednesday. He had a fever for six days. However, the veteran forward is feeling fine now and looking forward to getting some action in before the team heads to Europe to kick off the 2024-25 regular-season campaign against Buffalo in Czechia next Friday. Haula totaled 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) in 76 games a season ago with 156 shots and 94 hits.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula (illness) hasn't been available for the first few days of training camp because he is feeling under the weather. Haula is a savvy veteran who can be used throughout the lineup, and he has been posting solid but unspectacular numbers throughout his 11-year NHL career. Last season, the 33-year-old came close to registering his third consecutive 40-point campaign, as he popped up with 16 goals and had 19 assists in 76 contests. Haula should be a decent contributor again for the Devils in 2024-25 as a middle-six piece in the attack.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

New Jersey Devils forward Erik Haula (upper body) is on track to return to the lineup Wednesday versus Boston. He was kept out of action on Saturday against Edmonton by an upper-body injury, but it apparently wasn't a very serious issue, and Haula will make a quick return. Overall, health issues have robbed Haula of five games this season. He's done well for the team, scoring seven goals and recording six assists in 21 games while averaging 15:53 of ice time. Haula is expected to play with Dawson Mercer and Alexander Holtz on the third line.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
