Eric Saubert Gets A Reception Friday
6 years agoAtlanta Falcons tight end Eric Saubert registered a single reception for 24 yards in the Falcons preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs Friday. On one hand Saubert saw more targets and got more receptions than Logan Paulsen, who currently owns second place on the tight end depth chart. On the other hand it was just a single target and reception for Paulsen. In addition, that reception came when Matt Schaub was on the field rather than Matt Ryan. If Saubert begins running with the first team offense and getting targets from Ryan then he could move ahead of Paulsen on the depth chart. However, the second tight end spot for the Falcons is likely more ability the ability to block than catch. If Saubert cannot demonstrate the ability to block well then the Falcons will be unable to use him enough to even make him a consideration for fantasy owners.
