Eric Haase Making Tigers Debut On Wednesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher Eric Haase is making his debut with the team in Wednesday's game against Brady Singer and the Kansas City Royals. Haase is batting seventh in the game, filling in for the team's primary catcher in Austin Romine. The 27-year-old Haase spent the past two years with the Cleveland Indians but made just 34 plate appearances in the big leagues, slashing .094/.147/.188. While Romine will remain the Tigers primary catcher, Haase should be the team's No. 2 going forward. The Tigers sent Romine's previous backup, Grayson Greiner, to their alternate site when Haase was called up.
