Eric Haase Hits Pinch-Hit Home Run On Tuesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers catcher/outfielder Eric Haase had another strong offensive showing against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, despite not being part of the team's starting lineup. Haase entered the game as a pinch-hitter, taking the place of Nomar Mazara, and he went on to go 1-for-2 with a three-run home run, his 12th of the year. Haase has now gone 6-for-15 with three home runs, a double and 10 RBI over his first four games in July. He's slashing .252/.302/.568 over 39 games on the year. Anyone in deep leagues looking for catcher help should take a hard look at Haase. He should be part of the Tigers starting lineup more often than not going forward as he rotates between starts at catcher and in left field.
