Eric Gray Stuffed By Detroit’s Defense In Preseason Loss
1 year agoNew York Giants rookie running back Eric Gray was held in check by the Detroit Lions in the team's 21-16 loss Friday night. The fifth-round pick ended the game with five carries for nine yards and two catches for 10 yards. Most of Gray's carries came later in the game, following work from veteran running backs Matt Breida and James Robinson. Starter Saquon Barkley was given the night off. Gray, however, did handle early return duties for the G-Men. The rookie was an interesting name earlier in the offseason when Barkley was going through his contract dispute, but he is not worth rostering in normal redraft leagues now.
