Eric Ebron Touted as Red-Zone Threat by Colts Head Coach
7 years agoIn describing the value of the Indianapolis Colts signing tight end Eric Ebron this offseason, head coach Frank Reich made it clear that the former Detroit Lion brings a sizeable red-zone mismatch to the offense. "You put an elite tight end on the backside, it’s like clearing it out for LeBron (James)", Reich stated, "you feel like it’s still a winning matchup, because of his size and catch radius." Of course, Reich is coming from an offense which utilized Zach Ertz heavily across multiple formations while taking advantage of his ability to box out defenders in the end zone. Even with Jack Doyle being the predominant No. 1 guy in Indianapolis, Ebron's athletic ability should lead the Colts coaching staff to give him his fair share of red-zone looks.
