Eric Ebron Signs Two-Year Deal with Indianapolis
7 years agoAfter a brief visit with the team on Monday, free-agent tight end Eric Ebron is signing a two-year deal worth a maximum value of $15 million with the Indianapolis Colts, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. In his first four NFL seasons, Ebron averaged about 47 receptions, 518 yards and three touchdowns per year with the Detroit Lions. The addition of Ebron alongside Pro Bowl tight end Jack Doyle can no doubt help improve the numbers of whichever quarterback lines up under center in 2018, but it will be hard to trust either player in fantasy now that the two will be competing for targets. Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has supported two fantasy relevant tight ends before in the Dwayne Allen-Coby Fleener era, but his return will be critical for Ebron's productivity in Indianapolis. Ebron should only be drafted as a midrange TE2.
