Emmanuel Sanders' Future In Question
6 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (Achilles), who suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in practice on Wednesday, is set to count $12.9 million against the salary cap next year in his age-31 season. The Broncos would only have $2.69 million in dead cap money if they were to cut Sanders, but he must pass a physical first. NFL team doctor David Chao said it often takes up to a full year for a player to be explosive again after a torn Achilles, which means Sanders likely won't be ready for the start of the 2019 season. It seems likely that Sanders will open next year on the Physically Unable to Perform list if he remains with the Broncos, severely limiting his fantasy appeal.
