Emmanuel Clase Suspended For One Game
1 year agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase has been suspended for one game by Major League Baseball for his part in Saturday night's brawl with the Chicago White Sox, according to sources. Cleveland manager Terry Francona was also suspended one game. Both Clase and Francona will serve their one-game suspensions on Monday in the series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays. The 25-year-old Clase will be unavailable for fantasy managers to begin the week, but he'll return on Tuesday. If a save situation arises for the Guardians on Monday, Trevor Stephan will likely be asked to close things out. When active, Clase is a must-start in fantasy lineups yet again in 2023. He has a sharp 2.84 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 29 saves and 47 strikeouts in 50 2/3 relief frames.
