Emmanuel Clase Notches His 36th Save Of The Season
3 months agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase earned his American League-leading 36th save of the season on Monday as his team beat the Chicago Cubs 9-8. He entered the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. Clase struck out two over a scoreless inning to earn his 36th save of the season. This marks Clase's third straight night where he recorded a save after going five days without appearing for Cleveland. Clase has had a remarkable season in every sense of the word. He is (4-2) with an ERA of 0.65, a WHIP of 0.65, and a K/9 of 8.00 across 55 1/3 innings. If he can keep up these numbers and finish the season strong, he may find himself somewhere in the history books.
