Emmanuel Clase Notches 42nd Save Of Season Tuesday
2 years agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase picked up his 42nd save of the season in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Royals. He came in to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff single, had runners on first and third after a fielder's choice error, and then allowed the unearned runner to score on a force-out at second before getting the final two outs on strikeouts. The 24-year-old has been a fantastic fantasy option this season and currently has the most saves in baseball to go with a 1.36 ERA and 9.54 K/9 rate. Clase should be considered one of baseball's most reliable high-end closers heading into 2023.
