Emmanuel Clase Notches 10th Save Of Season Monday
2 years agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase picked up his 10th save of the season in Monday's 3-2 win over the Yankees. Clase entered to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one and made quick work of it, delivering a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout. The 25-year-old has been almost everything fantasy managers had hoped for to this point, converting all but two save opportunities with a 1.76 ERA and 5.28 K/9 rate. The strikeouts haven't been there yet for Clase and his velocity is down by 1-2 MPH on both his cutter and slider, but it's hard to complain too much when he has pitched so well. The strikeouts will likely come up over time and he should continue to be a top-tier fantasy closer.
