Emmanuel Clase Locks Down Save
4 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase recorded his first save of the season in Friday night's 4-1 win over the Detroit Tigers. This save comes just one game after Nick Wittgren recorded the first save of the season for the Indians. Apparently, Terry Francona was not kidding around when he said Clase, Wittgren, and James Karinchak would all be in the mix for saves to begin the season. Clase looked sharp as he tossed a perfect ninth inning while striking out two. Clase and Karinchak have the most strikeout upside of the bunch, but at this point, it is anybody's guess who will emerge as the top choice in Cleveland for saves. It would be wise for fantasy players to grab a share of any of these players if they are available in their league.
