Emmanuel Clase Locks Down Royals For Save
5 months agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase pitched a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday to pick up his 19th save. The electric righty struck out two while walking one without allowing a hit. The clean inning lowered Clase's ERA to a minuscule 0.30. The walk was his third on the season to go along with 31 strikeouts, raising his WHIP from 0.61 to 0.63. His 19 saves are tied for the most in MLB with Ryan Helsley. Clase is looking like the best closer in baseball and fantasy to start the year, with Robert Suarez of the San Diego Padres being the main pitcher to rival Clase's stats. Even though the 26-year-old's xERA of 2.31 isn't as pretty as his ERA, it's still one of the best in baseball.
