Emmanuel Clase Earns Save No. 24 Tuesday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase earned his league-best 24th save of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Royals. Clase came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth up by one. He got the first two outs on groundouts, had a runner reach first on an error, but got one more groundout to end the game. The 25-year-old has been an elite fantasy option once again this season and has started to look like his old self, bringing his season stats to a 2.35 ERA and 8.22 K/9 rate. It is a testament to his skill that Clase remains one of fantasy's top closers even when his game isn't quite at 100%.
