Emmanuel Clase Collects 16th Save Monday
1 year agoCleveland Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase picked up his league-best 16th save of the season in Monday's 3-0 win over the White Sox. Clase came in to pitch the top of the ninth inning and went 1-2-3 with a strikeout. The 25-year-old has not had the numbers fantasy managers expected overall with a 3.38 ERA, just a 6.00 K/9 rate, and five blown saves. However, he is still racking up saves and holds a firm grasp of the closer's role. Clase has been one of fantasy's top closers for several seasons now, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried, especially because he continues to convert saves.
