Emilio Pagan Claims Ninth Inning With Second Save
4 years agoSan Diego Padres reliever Emilio Pagan collected his second save Sunday against the Houston Astros. The beleaguered 29-year-old required just 13 pitches to retire the Astros in order and secure the Friars sweep. With closer Kirby Yates (elbow) sidelined for the season and successor Drew Pomeranz (shoulder) on the IL, Pagan has been the choice door-slammer the past two save opportunities. After a lights-out 2019, Pagan has scuffled to a 6.23 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. While his leash is short, the Friars have limited options and he should be rostered in all fantasy formats for the time being.
