Emiliano Teodo Dealing With Thumb Soreness
Emiliano Teodo (thumb) is dealing with thumb soreness. Due to this injury, he left his bullpen early on Saturday, but his exit was deemed "precautionary." Landry noted the 24-year-old is labeled as day-to-day. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as a strong spring performance could earn him a spot on the Triple-A roster. Last summer, the No. 6 ranked prospect in the system logged 86 1/3 innings at the Double-A level and performed quite well as he held a 1.98 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. He tallied an impressive 110 strikeouts but served up a hefty 50 free passes. However, this a strong improvement compared to the 4.52 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP he held across 61 2/3 innings at High-A. Teodo could contend for a big league debut later this summer if he carries this strong play into Triple-A.

Emiliano Teodo Strikes Out The Side To Earn The Save On Wednesday
Emiliano Teodo was brilliant in Wednesday's 5-3 Cactus League win over the Reds. The Rangers' sixth-ranked prospect pitched a scoreless ninth to secure the victory and the save. The 6-foot-1 flamethrower did not allow a hit or a walk while striking out all three batters faced. Although his sinker topped out at 99.8 mph, the righty recorded all three strikeouts with his slider. The Dominican isn't expected to make the Opening Day roster as he hasn't pitched past the Double-A level yet, but with the ability to start or come out of the bullpen, he would give the Rangers some options if needed. Last season in 19 starts at Double-A, Teodo posted a 1.98 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and a 30.7 percent K%, although it came with an ugly 14.0 percent BB%. As a reliever, he earned the 2023 Arizona Fall League Reliever of the Year award, so he should fit in fine there if that is the route they decide to take. For now, expect him to begin at Triple-A, but with the strikeout potential, he could be a viable fantasy add whenever he gets called up to the Show, whether it be as a starter or reliever.

Emiliano Teodo Logs Successful Bullpen
Emiliano Teodo (thumb) logged a successful bullpen session on Sunday. The 24-year-old exited his bullpen earlier on Saturday with a minor thumb issue. However, seeing him pitching just one day later suggests this injury is not overly serious. Teodo is considered the team's No. 6 prospect on MLB Pipeline. He spent the entire 2024 campaign with Double-A Frisco and performed very well, as he held a 1.98 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP across 86 1/3 innings. He tallied 110 punchouts but served up 50 free passes. This was a nice improvement compared to the 4.52 ERA and the 1.39 WHIP he held at High-A the previous season. If Teodo has a strong spring performance, he will likely open the season at Triple-A.
