Elvis Andrus Signs With White Sox
2 years agoThe Chicago White Sox signed free-agent shortstop Elvis Andrus to an undisclosed deal on Thursday after he was released by the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday, according to sources. Andrus is expected to join the White Sox in Cleveland on Friday for the start of their series against the Guardians. Chicago has been using Romy Gonzalez, Lenyn Sosa and Leury Garcia at shortstop with Tim Anderson (finger) on the injured list, but Andrus should take over regular duties at the 6 moving forward. As a regular for the A's in 106 games this year, the 33-year-old veteran hit .237/.301/.373 with eight home runs, 30 RBI, 41 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 354 at-bats. Andrus doesn't have much upside these days, but the move to the Pale Hose does make him more attractive in deeper fantasy formats.
