Elvis Andrus Should Be Ready For Camp
3 years agoOakland Athletics manager Mark Kotsay said that he thinks shortstop Elvis Andrus (leg), who fractured his left fibula last September and had surgery, will be "ready to come to camp and hit the ground running." Andrus should be able to work out early in spring training, but the A's could ease him into game action in March. The 33-year-old shortstop had two surgeries after his injury last fall. He managed to hit .243/.294/.320 with three home runs, 25 doubles, 37 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 146 games for Oakland last year. Andrus has had only two big-league seasons with double-digit home runs, and he wasn't running as much anymore, even before his late-season leg injury. Maybe you're looking at him for some modest speed contributions in fantasy, but he won't give you much else.
