Elijah Mitchell Won't Play Against Seahawks
3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell (shoulder) won't suit up against the Seahawks in Week 4. Mitchell got in a limited practice on Friday, though the shoulder injury seems to be one that the rookie won't be able to play through. That leaves the 49ers backfield up to fellow rookie Trey Sermon and fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Sermon would be the preferred play of all the 49ers ball-carriers, as he totaled 13 touches and a score in his first action as a pro. Of course, the always-unpredictable Shanahan could turn to another back on the roster, which leaves Sermon in the flex range for Week 4.
