Elieser Hernandez Struggles A Bit On Monday
4 years agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Elieser Hernandez got the start in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals. He struggled through 2 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Hernandez gave up all three runs in the first inning before settling in a bit for the second and most of the third. He'll likely start the fourth game of the season for the Marlins, and while he is the exact type of pitcher who would thrive with an opener pitching ahead of him, the Marlins manager is not nearly creative enough to make that happen. Still, Hernandez can be had very late in drafts and could return solid value and is almost sure to outperform players drafted around him.
