Elias Pettersson Has Monster Night On Friday
6 years agoVancouver Canucks center Elias Petterson found the score sheet five times on Friday, posting two goals and three assists in a 7-6 overtime victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Additionally, the impressive rookie posted a plus-three rating, four shots on goal and four takeaways in 22:45 of time-on-ice in the contest. Pettersson is taking the NHL by storm during the first month of his career and is now up to 15 points (nine goals, six assists) in nine games. Scoring is nothing new for the fifth-overall draft pick of the 2017 draft, as Pettersson led the Swedish Hockey League in scoring last season as an 18-year-old. He is an incredible talent and should be considered a must-start fantasy option already.

Elias Pettersson Sustains Injury On Wednesday
4 days agoVancouver Canucks rookie defenseman Elias Pettersson (upper body) was unable to finish Wednesday's contest against the Calgary Flames. The 21-year-old defenseman sustained this injury in the opening frame. He logged just over four minutes of ice time prior to exiting. Fantasy managers should monitor his status before their next contest on Saturday evening against the Chicago Blackhawks. Entering Wednesday's game, the third-round pick tallied one point (an assist) over his last four games while logging five hits and five blocked shots. Through his first 15 NHL contests, Pettersson has tallied just two points (both helpers) while adding 12 shots, 20 hits, and 11 blocks. If he were to miss time, the Canucks may have to promote a defenseman from their AHL affiliate.

Elias Pettersson Considered Day-To-Day
3 weeks agoVancouver Canucks center Elias Pettersson (undisclosed) is viewed as day-to-day leading up to Saturday's contests against the Vegas Golden Knights. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Saturday's game, but it seems unlikely he will be able to suit up. Pettersson sustained this injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off while representing Team Sweden. Leading up to the break, the 26-year-old tallied just one point (one helper) over his previous four contests. Through 49 contests, Pettersson has scored 11 goals and added 23 helpers. He has also logged 60 blocked shots. If Pettersson were to miss Saturday's contest, Filip Chytil and Pius Suter would continue to be deployed as the top centers.

Elias Pettersson Activated From Injured Reserve
2 months agoVancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson (undisclosed) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Friday's contest against Carolina. The 26-year-old appears ready to rejoin the lineup following a six-game absence. Pettersson should assume a top-six role, potentially bumping Pius Suter down to the third line. Vancouver hasn't quite received what it's used to from Pettersson this season, who has notched 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 34 games. However, he produced four multi-point efforts last month, proving he can still go off offensively.

Elias Pettersson A Game-Time Call Against Capitals
2 months agoVancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson (upper body) is a game-time decision for Wednesday's tilt against Washington. He has missed five games due to an upper-body injury. Pettersson scored twice in his last appearance but has endured a difficult time this season, posting 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 34 appearances. We should see him back among the top six if Pettersson is ready to return on Wednesday, with Pius Suter dropping down in the lineup. Suter has gone pointless in six games despite working on a scoring line.
