Elias Lindholm Signs Extension With New Team
6 years agoThe Calgary Flames reached a deal with the newly-acquired Elias Lindholm for a six-year contract worth $29.1 million. Lindholm’s new cap hit is just under $5 million, a significant raise from his last contract at $2.7 million AAV. Calgary is putting a lot of stock into his potential; the 23-year-old Swede has yet to really break out, but could do so should he line up on the Flames first unit alongside Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. Lindholm set career highs in assists (34) and points (45) in the 2016-17 season and was just a point shy of that total last season. Still young and heading into an exciting top-six forward corps, we could see his first 20-goal, 50-point campaign.
