Elfrid Payton Keeps Gaining Momentum
5 years agoNew York Knicks point guard Elfrid Payton followed up his solid Wednesday's performance against Golden State with another good effort on Friday, recording a season-high 16 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal. He shot 7-for-13 from the field and had zero turnovers in 27 minutes of action. Frank Ntilikina posted another dud with two points and finished with a minus-22 rating, which was by far the worst on the team, so Payton might find himself in the starting unit sooner rather than later if he keeps his form going. However, the next matchup against the Nuggets isn't a pretty one. They are among the top defensive teams in the league and Mike Malone's team limited the Knicks to only 92 points just last week.
