6 years agoNew York Mets closer Edwin Diaz faced his first precarious situation this season, as he entered Monday night's game in Miami for a non-save appearance. With his team up by four runs, the 25-year-old allowed a walk to the first batter, before allowing a pair of hits. After that, however, he struck out the final three batters to escape with his club's victory. Diaz is poised to be one of the league leaders in saves this season, and his strikeout prowess is a main reason why, as showcased Monday night.
