New York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz saved his 32nd game of the year Friday, finishing off a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves. He struck out two and did not allow a baserunner. Diaz has now gone six straight outings without giving up a hit or a walk, though he has hit two batsmen in that time. He's converted 32 saves in 38 tries, and despite his tumultuous year will enter 2022 as a top-10 relief pitcher once again.--Doug Goldring

New York Mets relief pitcher Edwin Diaz bounced back nicely on the mound during Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Diaz was forced to exit early on Wednesday due to a hip cramp, but had no lingering effects on the mound here. The right-hander took over on the mound with a two-run lead on Saturday. Diaz did walk a batter, but then he struck out the side to record his seventh save of the season. The right-hander has struck out multiple batters in six straight outings. During that span, Diaz has only allowed one earned run in 6 1/3 innings of work. He remains a must-have and must-start fantasy player in all formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz (hip) was injured on Wednesday during his outing against the Philadelphia Phillies and has not returned to game action since. Mike Puma of the New York Post reported on Friday that Diaz could play catch before Friday's game without any issues. However, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza elected not to use him in a save situation that night due to his recent workload. This is an encouraging sign for Diaz and fantasy owners, as it seems likely he will be available at some point either Saturday or Sunday, if not next week at the latest. Without Diaz available, Ryne Stanek blew the save for the Mets on Friday, as the Washington Nationals won in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth.--Nicho Roessler - RotoBaller

New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz (hip) left his appearance early during Wednesday's extra-inning win against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies due to left-hip cramping, according to manager Carlos Mendoza. Diaz disengaged with the rubber for the third time and was charged with a balk in the top of the 10th inning to call out the training staff before he was eventually pulled. The 31-year-old right-hander retired the side in the top of the ninth inning in a 2-2 tie before going out for a second inning, which was the first time this year he has done that. Diaz recorded a strikeout but then gave up an RBI single before injuring his hip. Although the hard-throwing relieved didn't seem too concerned with the injury after the game, fantasy managers will want to check back on his status before Friday's series opener with the Nationals. If he ends up missing time, Ryne Stanek and A.J. Minter could share closing duties.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

New York Mets right-hander Edwin Diaz secured a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. Diaz pitched one inning while allowing one run and striking out two to pick up his sixth save of the season. It was a rocky inning for Diaz and the Mets as he allowed a three-run homer to Bryson Stott, with two of the runs being charged to reliever Max Kranick. Diaz now has a 1-0 record, 5.59 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings of work on the season. He remains perfect in six save chances, despite the ugly ERA. That being said, the longtime Mets closer has a firm grip on the closer role in the Big Apple.--Matt T - RotoBaller
