7 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Edwin Diaz has been fantastic to begin the year, picking up his seventh save Monday night in a win against the Astros. Diaz has converted all of his save opportunities and looks as locked-in as ever. Over eight innings pitched this season, Diaz has allowed only one hit while striking out 16. Diaz came into the season as the unquestioned closer and has elevated his game in the early portion of the season. He possesses some of the best stuff among all relievers in the American League and the Mariners offense is off to a strong start. He should see plenty of save chances in the near future and is off to a great start.--Joey C - RotoBaller
