Edwin Arroyo, Cam Collier Assigned To Minor-League Camp
21 seconds agoThe Cincinnati Reds reassigned shortstop Edwin Arroyo and third baseman Cam Collier to minor-league camp on Wednesday. Additionally, the Reds sent right-hander Jose Acuna, catcher Michael Trautwein, outfielder Hector Rodriguez (No. 11) and infielder Ivan Johnson to minor-league camp. Arroyo (No. 5) and Collier (No. 4) are two of the team's top prospects and are also ranked by MLB Pipeline as top-100 prospects in all of baseball entering the 2025 season. Arroyo, 21, was never really expected to make Cincy's Opening Day roster after missing all of the 2024 campaign due to surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He will likely begin the year at Double-A Chattanooga. Collier, who is a year younger than Arroyo, also wasn't a realistic option to break camp on the big-league roster for Opening Day. He, too, should start 2025 at Chattanooga with Arroyo.
