Edward Cabrera Making Up for Lost Time In Rehab Outing
3 years agoMiami Marlins pitching prospect Edward Cabrera (biceps inflammation) made his second rehab start of the year on Saturday after recovering from the injury that kept him out for the first month of the season. The 23-year-old right-hander struck out eight batters in three shutout innings. He threw 32 of his 51 (63%) pitches for strikes. Cabrera split the 2019 season between High-A and Double-A. At the higher level, he posted a 2.56 ERA with a 28% strikeout rate in 38 2/3 innings of work. He should soon be ready to jump up to Double-A or Triple-A and could become an option in 2021 redraft leagues in the second half of the year. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the third-best pitcher in the Marlins' system behind Max Meyer and Sixto Sanchez.
