Edward Cabrera Exits Early On Sunday
8 months agoMiami Marlins right-hander Edward Cabrera departed his Sunday start before throwing a pitch due to right shoulder tightness. He finished his warmup tosses before trainers came out to evaluate him and he ultimately walked off the field with what the team is calling precautionary reasons. The 25-year-old has yet to allow a run across five Grapefruit League games this spring, striking out five against zero walks in that time. After he worked to a 2.22 ERA across five starts at Triple-A in the 2023 season, Cabrera posted a 4.24 ERA in 22 outings (20 starts) with the Marlins a season ago, punching out a healthy 27.2% of the hitters he faced in that time. More word on his status should be made available in the coming days but Cabrera remains a solid fantasy asset for the 2024 season.
