Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez pitched six great innings in a 7-2 win against the Baltimore Orioles. His line was one run on five hits with eight strikeouts and two walks. His first start back from the DL was lacking but this one demonstrated the potential he has truly put his knee concerns in the past. Somehow, Rodriguez' ownership has dropped. As has been reiterated, he needs to be owned more and likely will after an excellent outing. He is in line to take on the Angels in his next start.--Ellis Canady - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez did not have his best stuff in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Mets. Rodriguez pitched just four innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits (including three home runs) and a walk with one strikeout. The 32-year-old has been erratic this season, with this start adding one-and-a-half runs to his season ERA. He is now 1-3 with a 6.06 ERA, a 1.44 WHIP, and a 9.64 K/9 rate in six starts and 32 2/3 IP. Unfortunately, things won't get easier for E Rod in his next scheduled start, which will be at the Phillies. Fantasy managers may consider sitting him for that matchup given the potential for another low-floor outing.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez had his swing-and-miss stuff going during Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals. Rodriguez would have a tough start to the ballgame where he allowed three runs in the first inning. After that, Rodriguez settled down nicely as he recorded 12 strikeouts across five innings of work. He allowed four earned runs on the day which would end up putting him on the hook for the loss. Fantasy managers were still able to get a positive result due to the double digit punchouts. It has been a mixed bag for the veteran southpaw early in the season. We'll see what he can do against the Milwaukee Brewers during his next start.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez made his long-awaited season debut in Wednesday's 5-3 victory over the Guardians. Rodriguez went five-and-two-thirds innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits (two home runs) and two walks while striking out just one batter. The lefty picked up the win despite not missing many bats as he coaxed just two swings-and-misses in the outing but should have a much more favorable matchup in his next turn through the rotation when he faces the Rockies at home in his next start. The 31-year-old is coming off a strong 2023 season with Detroit where he went 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA (3.66 FIP), 1.15 WHIP, and a 15.3% K-BB%.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a four-inning simulated game on Wednesday and could be an option to come off the injured list to make his debut with the D-backs next week on the road against the Cleveland Guardians, according to manager Torey Lovullo. It's a bit surprising that Arizona isn't going to require the 31-year-old veteran southpaw to go on a minor-league rehab assignment despite having not pitched at all in 2024 after initially injuring his shoulder/lat in spring training. Because of the fact that he's expected to join the starting rotation without having pitched in a live game all year, fantasy managers should be extremely hesitant to rely on E-Rod, especially in a bad matchup in Cleveland against the first-place Guardians. When Rodriguez is fully stretched out, he'll make for a matchup-based streamer in deep-mixed leagues, at best.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
