Eduardo Rodriguez Had Successful Batting Practice Session
7 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) threw three innings of batting practice against minor leaguers on Thursday, according to Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. He threw 47 pitches -- a combination of fastballs, sliders and changeups. Rodriguez is working his way back from knee surgery. He is focused on strengthening his shoulder now that his knee feels healthy, but also wants to get back on the mound to help the team. However, manager Alex Cora is focused on Rodriguez's recovery and not on rushing him back. “One start is not going to determine his season. When he’s ready, we know he’ll be pitching in big league ball games,” Cora said. The next step for Rodriguez will be a spring training game on Tuesday. The closer Rodriguez gets to starting games, the less discount you will get in your dynasty leagues.
