Eduardo Nunez Has First Appearance In Spring Delayed
7 years agoBoston Red Sox super-utility player Eduardo Nunez will not start Wednesday as previously expected, reported Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe. Nunez is fine, but the team is just being cautious because the grass is wet due to rain. He is expected to start Thursday. Nunez hit .321 with eight home runs and six stolen bases after being acquired from the Giants in a trade last year. However, his season was cut short due to knee injuries. Therefore, the Red Sox were extra cautious before re-signing him prior to the season. He had to demonstrate physical health by doing strength and stability activities. Nunez is expected to start the season at second base in place of the injured Dustin Pedroia (knee). The Red Sox just want to ensure they go into the season with a healthy lineup without taking any unnecessary risks.
