Eduardo Escobar Connects For First Homer Of Season Thursday
3 years agoNew York Mets third baseman Eduardo Escobar slugged his first home run of the season during a 6-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. The 2021 All-Star took Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani deep for a solo shot during the second inning. Through 13 games, the 33-year-old is slashing .318/.464/.591 while posting 12 walks and seven doubles. The sturdy Escobar has settled in as the number five hitter in Queens and should be a strong source of counting stats during his first season as a Met.
