Edinson Volquez To Be Shut Down For 4-6 Weeks
6 years agoCurrently on the injured list with an elbow sprain, Texas Rangers starting pitcher Edinson Volquez will be shut down for up to six weeks and later be re-evaluated, the team announced Friday. The 35-year-old had made two starts this year, surrendering six runs on 10 hits in 7 2/3 innings pitched thus far. At this point it's not outrageous to consider this season to be bordering on lost for the World Series champion. Last year, he spent all of the season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
