Edgar Quero Getting Healthy, In Consideration For Call-Up
3 months agoChicago White Sox catching prospect Edgar Quero (back) should be activated from the minor-league injured list at Triple-A Charlotte soon after dealing with back tightness. General manager Chris Getz said that Quero is "under consideration" for a major-league call-up, but the team also won't rush him. The White Sox have nothing left to play for but pride and to get some eyes on some of their top prospects like Quero. The 21-year-old Quero, who is considered by MLB Pipeline to be Chicago's No. 4 prospect, started the year at Double-A Birmingham but was promoted to Charlotte in early July. The Cuban switch-hitting backstop has hit .313/.408/.506 with a .914 OPS, four homers and 17 RBI for the Knights in 23 games. The 5-foot-11, 210-pounder is just a dynasty stash for now, but Quero possesses 20-homer power and could be with the big-league club early in 2025 if we don't see him when rosters expand this September.
