From the opening bell, Chairez was one step ahead of Vergara, knocking Vergara down multiple times before securing a rear-naked choke submission. In 2:30 of action, Chairez landed eight significant strikes. Defeating Vergara marked a return to the win column for Chairez following a unanimous decision loss to Joshua Van at UFC 306.
