Echedry Vargas Extends Hitting Streak With Two-Homer Game
5 months agoTexas Rangers infield prospect Echedry Vargas extended his hitting streak to four games with a two-home run performance on Thursday evening. The 19-year-old has performed well in his first taste of Single-A ball with a .265/.326/.406 line with 4 long balls, 20 RBI, and nine swiped bags. Since posting a poor .158 AVG through April, the infielder has been riding a strong .288/.349/.417 since May 1. With his current play, the number 16 ranked prospect in the Texas system on MLB.com could join High-A Hickory later this summer. For now, he should remain on the waiver wire in dynasty leagues but could become a name to monitor as he progresses through the minor leagues.
