Eagles Will Release Alshon Jeffery
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles plan on releasing wide receiver Alshon Jeffery when the new league year begins in March. With a much younger wideout corps expected for 2021, the move has been obvious for quite a while. Philadelphia also officially released veteran pass-catcher DeSean Jackson on Monday after he said the team was releasing him last week on his Instagram account. Jeffery is heading into his age-31 season and hasn't played in a full season since 2017 due to various injuries. He managed to play in just seven games (two starts) in 2020, catching just six of his 13 targets for 115 yards and a touchdown. A Pro Bowler in 2013 with the Bears, Jeffery's fantasy value has fallen off a cliff the last several years, and he's unlikely to be in play for fantasy managers this fall.
