Eagles Release Alshon Jeffery, Malik Jackson
4 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles officially released wide receiver Alshon Jeffery and defensive tackle Malik Jackson with post-June 1 designations. The moves freed up $4 million in salary cap space for the 2021 season, but the Eagles will still carry more than $9 million in dead money. Jeffery only played in seven games last season while dealing with a foot injury. He caught just six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown. The 31-year-old hasn't played in a full season since his first year in Philly in 2017 and has fallen off a cliff because of injuries in recent seasons. Jackson signed with the Eagles in 2019 and missed all but one game due to a foot injury. He managed 28 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2020.
