Eagles GM Speaks About Jalen Hurts Contract Extension
2 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts became a top-tier signal-caller last season. He was in the MVP conversation all year, so naturally, the organization would love to keep him around. General manager Howie Roseman chimed in on the situation, stating that the team has a "good sense" of what it will take to keep Hurts on the roster while adding, "Obviously, we want to keep our best players here for the long term, and he's certainly one of our best players." Hurts, who is eligible to sign a contract extension this offseason, finished the 2022-23 campaign with 3,701 passing yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He was also potent on the run, amassing 760 yards and 13 touchdowns off 165 attempts. Nevertheless, it's still early in the negotiation process, with talks likely to intensify in the coming months. However, the 24-year-old will be the first quarterback taken in many fantasy drafts ahead of Week 1 in September, regardless of the outcome of contract talks.
