Eagles Defense Generates Six Sacks Against Chicago
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Eagles defense allowed 20 points, recorded six sacks, and forced three fumbles, recovering one of them, during the team's 25-20 victory over the Chicago Bears in Week 15. Philadelphia was able to hold Chicago quarterback Justin Fields to 152 passing yards but had no answers for him once he left the pocket. Fields gouged the Eagles' defense for 95 yards on the ground and extended drives for the Bears to keep the game close to the very end. They were able to generate pressure, especially on passing downs when only sending four defenders after the quarterback, recording six sacks for the third time this season. Next week's matchup against the division rival Dallas Cowboys is shaping up to be a shootout with both offenses ranked inside the top five of total points scored. Philadelphia's defense will be more of a low-end starting option rather than a high-end one in Week 16.
