Eagles Coaches Hoping Carson Wentz Will Do a Better Job Protecting Himself
7 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz has said he has no plans to change his style of aggressive football, but his head coach Doug Pederson said he hopes his quarterback will reconsider. Pederson said, "Longevity is everything in this business," and added that he wants Wentz to, "Learn from Tom Brady, who got hurt early in his career. And learn from guys that have done that and yet still went on to have great careers and long careers." Eagles coaches say they have spoken to Wentz about being more careful in the past, but Wentz has not made any indication that he'd be willing to change his game. He'll likely continue to scramble when needed, but might pick his spots a bit more carefully.
