4 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dylan Moore came on as a pinch-hitter against the Houston Astros Monday, and immediately launched a two-run home run, his 11th of the season. This is Moore's second home run this season off of Brooks Raley, after a go-ahead grand slam just prior to the trade deadline. Moore now has a .611 OPS and 18 steals on the season, but his playing time has been reduced significantly and he's hardly rosterable in most fantasy formats.--Doug Goldring

4 days agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Dylan Moore (illness) was scratched from the team's Sunday Cactus League outing against the Milwaukee Brewers with flu-like symptoms. Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reported the news. Per Divish, the cold/flu bug is still going around the clubhouse, with Moore the latest to be hit. The 32-year-old is batting a paltry .136 this spring (6-for-44) with one homer, two RBIs, and three steals. Moore notched a career-high 32 steals a season ago. Still, he doesn't project to be a strong source of average or power, as he's yet to eclipse a .224 batting average since 2022. Fantasy managers can safely avoid him in drafts despite his positional versatility.--Alex Ciulla

10 months agoThe Seattle Mariners reinstated infielder/outfielder Dylan Moore from the paternity list on Thursday and optioned infielder Leo Rivas to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move after Wednesday's contest. Moore has been on the paternity list since Monday but will now return to the M's and will likely start at second base in Thursday's series finale against the visiting Chicago White Sox with Jorge Polanco (hamstring) still on the injured list. The 31-year-old veteran has some speed to spare and is useful for his positional versatility in deeper leagues, but he has been cold offensively of late and is hitting just .213/.325/.408 on the year with six home runs, 22 RBI, nine stolen bases and 23 runs scored in 169 at-bats. So far in June, he's been worse, slashing .160/.233/.200 with two RBI and five runs scored.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

10 months agoThe Seattle Mariners placed infielder/outfielder Dylan Moore on the paternity list on Monday and recalled infielder Leo Rivas from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move. With Moore scratched from Monday's lineup against the Chicago White Sox, rookie Ryan Bliss will now get the start at second base and will hit ninth for the M's against White Sox right-hander Erick Fedde. The 31-year-old Moore will now be away from the team for up to three games this week. In his place, Bliss or Rivas could see some more starts at the keystone in Seattle. Moore is a decent infield/outfield bench option in AL-only leagues for his modest power/speed combination. The former seventh-round pick by the Texas Rangers in 2015 out of Central Florida is batting .213/.325/.408 on the year with six home runs, 22 RBI, nine steals and 23 runs scored in 169 at-bats for Seattle.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

10 months agoSeattle Mariners utilityman Dylan Moore continued his solid month of May in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Yankees. Moore went 3-for-4 with a single, a solo home run, a two-run HR, and four RBI. Known mostly for his multi-position eligibility and speed, the 31-year-old has proven himself to be even more versatile in May, batting .293 with five HR and a stolen base. He bats in the bottom of the Mariners lineup but is rostered in just five percent of leagues and can slot into several positions, making him worth a look in deeper roto leagues for fantasy managers in search of a hot bat.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
